The Alps were formed over tens of millions of years as the African and European Continents collided and what we’ve been left with, is a mountain range that runs for 750 miles across eight countries and has 100 peaks that are over 4000 metres high.
Neither Hannibal, the Romans, Napoleon or Adolf Hitler will have enjoyed their visit to the area as much as Vale Moto Tours…..none of them had bikes to ride did they?
If you want to add, the Vosges Mountains in France, a night in Liechtenstein, the Stelvio Pass on the Swiss / Italian border, a bit of the Ducati Factory in Bologna, the San Marino Moto GP race, Tuscany, the Vercors in France and some gob-smacking biking roads into the mix, then this is the tour for you!
This is the kind of tour where there is more emphasis on riding your bike and has been graded as Experienced Riders Only.
5th September to 15th September 2017 – 11 days
Prices from £975 per person
Carving a route towards the Alps. We avoid motorways like the plague, but if we want to get to the good stuff as soon as we can, it’s unavoidable unfortunately.
A play in the Vosges Mountains over the Col Du Ballon and onto Liechtenstein. The Alps await!
This is one of the big days. Crossing over the Alps and dropping down the Stelvio Pass (going up it is too easy). Riders will be able to see the view over each bend….and of course, there’s plenty of fantastic roads before and after it too.
Leaving the mountains and heading for the coast…..via Lake Garda!
A nice easy ride down the coast to our hotel.
MOTO GP……. Come on Rossi!
East to west through Tuscany
Our final day on the Italian roads.
Stunning scenery as we hug the cliffs along Combe Laval. It’s certainly not for the faint hearted! Take another route if you prefer, these are ‘never to be forgotten’ roads.
Travelling north through the Rhône-Alpes and Burgundy wine region of France.
The last leg before the Eurotunnel back to the UK. Get the hemorrhoid cream ready…….at least the French motorways are mostly empty!
All mileages are estimated and routes are subject to change.
We would like to highlight that on all of our tours, it is essential that you hold adequate Medical and Breakdown Recovery Insurance which includes repatriation for you, your pillion and your motorcycle. We will require a copy of these documents before departure and it is a prerequisite for your participation on the tour.
